Veterinarians
Dr. James R. Miles , DVM Dr. Miles is a 1980 graduate of Michigan State University. He has worked at SCVC since 1982 and became it's owner in 1995. His special interests include internal medicine, oncology, orthopedic and laser surgery along with ultrasonic diagnositcs.
Dr. Thomas C. Favale , DVM Dr. Favale graduated from Iowa State University in 1988. He has been with our clinic since 1990. In addition to general medicine, surgery and oncology, he is studying behavioral disorders as a nontraditional resident at Purdue University.
Dr. Gail A. Novak , DVM Dr. Gail Novak is a 1988 graduate of University of Illinois. She began working at SCVC in 1991. Her primary interests lie in general medicine, surgery, dermatology and pediatric care.
John G. Gmitro , DVM Dr. John Gmitro (aka Dr. John)was a 1994 graduate of University of Illinois. He had an interest in internal medicine as well as surgery and enjoys working with our geriatric patients. Dr. John died in July 2009 but his love of life and devotion to his patients will be with us forever.
Dr. Valerie J. Vogel , DVM Dr. Valerie Vogel joined our clinic immediately after graduating from University of Illinois in 2002. Her interests include general medicine as well as small mammals, birds, reptiles and other exotic pets.
Dr. Jennifer J. Martens , DVM Dr. Jennifer Martens has been with our clinic since 2003. She is a 2002 graduate of Iowa State University. Her interests are in preventative care and internal medicine as well as ultrasonic diagnostics.
Dr. Brandy M. McGreer , DVM Dr. Brandy McGreer is the newest member of our medical team, joining our staff in 2007. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2005. Her interests range from preventative medicine and pain management to surgery and treating exotic pets.
